Natalia Wisniewska a student on the MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures course has won a Salters' Graduate Prize for her work in Chemical Engineering.

The annual prizes are awarded by The Salters’ Institute to support undergraduates, studying chemistry or chemical engineering, with the potential to be leading figures in the industrial life of the UK. Natalia joined the other winners and 170 guests at a ceremony, last month, in Fishmongers’ Hall in central London to accept her award.

As one of only 10 winners, Natalia, had strong competition from across the UK. Originally she was nominated while an undergraduate at Swansea University by Dr Chedly Tizaoui. He recognised her as a top student who had been an excellent ambassador for the university. After this were two challenging interviews during which she believes her passion for renewables and innovation helped her win the award.

“I feel deeply honoured to be nominated for such a prestigious award as the Salters' Graduate Prize, considering so many chemical engineering students from universities all over the UK were competing for the prize” explains Natalia, “I am happy that the way I think about the future of chemical engineering is supported by experts in the field like the members of The Salters’ Institute. I am also looking forward to utilising the skills I gained during my chemical engineering degree at Swansea University and combining them with what I will learn here at Imperial College London to implement "greener" solutions for the UK’s energy economy.”
