Theoni Georgiou

This prize is awarded annually to a young UK-based scientist whose contributions to polymer science show outstanding promise for the future.

The medal is awarded to researchers within 12 years of finishing their PhD.  Theoni will receive a bronze medal and will deliver a medal award lecture at a Macro Group UK meeting.

Theoni's research interests involve synthesis and characterisation of polymers and their evaluation in a variety of applications like drug delivery, gene delivery, photothermal therapy etc. She is also interested in the self-assembly of multiblock copolymers, gels and stabilising dispersions or particles by using polymeric macrosurfactants.

Theoni says, “I am really happy to be acknowledged by the MacroGroup. I will do my best to prove them right!”
