Entanglement is Necessary for Emergent Classicality in All Physical Theories.
Two CQD students research proves that quantum entanglement, far from being a surprising feature of quantum theory, is an inevitable feature of any theory superseding classical theory. Further details are available in their paper (https://journals.aps.org/prl/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevLett.119.080503). This work is important as it paves the way for characterising the features of possible post-quantum theories.
