CRO becomes CRGO
The Clinical Research Office becomes the Clinical Research Governance office
Following an internal service review it has been decided that the Clinical Research
Office will change its name to the Clinical Research Governance Office (CRGO).
This change came into effect on 1st September 2007.
The Clinical Research Office has worked hard to establish processes, procedures
and training to support College researchers in the set-up and management of their
research projects. In the past two years the CRO has developed standard operational
procedures for research conduct and regulatory compliance, initiated a
popular programme of research workshops covering key issues in research project
management, devised the College system for sponsorship approval and provided
advice and support on a wide range of research issues.
Following this success, an internal review has highlighted areas for further service
development. It has been recognised that a closer working arrangement with Research
Services and in particular the research contracting team would hopefully
lead to streamlined practices and benefit the College and its researchers.
To meet this need it is important to clearly define our role and therefore we are
changing our name to the Clinical Research Governance Office to aid transparency
and define our purpose within Imperial College London. The change in
name will in no way alter our service provision to you and will hopefully provide
College and Trust staff with a clearer idea of who we are and what we do.
All of the CRGO will continue to make research development, support and management
our key priorities.
