Congratulations to Helen Sharman

On receiving her Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George medal

Many congratulations to Helen Sharman Chemistry Department Operations Manager and Britain's first astronaut who was at Windsor Castle on 16th February to receive her Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George medal which was presented to her by the Queen at an Investiture ceremony. Helen received her honour in the Queen's New Year Honours list for her outreach work. She is a Fellow of the Science Museum and a patron of Spacelink Learning Foundation, which develops science lesson plans for teachers and provides information for schools and club activities, as well as running an annual event for schools.
