Departments across the Faculty have achieved impressive results in the latest QS World University Rankings.
The results for 2018, published today, have seen all engineering departments either maintain or strengthen their positions in respective subject tables.
The College’s highest ranked department this year is Civil Engineering, which has moved up one place from 2017 to rank third internationally. Electrical Engineering was the Faculty's biggest mover, jumping four places to rank fifth overall.
As a Faculty, Engineering retained its place as second in Europe and sixth worldwide.
Meanwhile, Mechanical Engineering (8th), Materials (11th) and Chemical Engineering (7th) have all improved on last year’s rankings, while Computing (12th) upheld its position and Earth Science and Engineering moved up three places to 23rd.
The results once again emphasise the Faculty’s strength across all engineering disciplines and reinforce our position as a world leading institution for engineering research and education.
Reflecting on the positive results, Professor Nigel Brandon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said: "This is a tremendous result that reflects the hard work and excellence that I see in our staff and students every day across the Faculty."
