Professor Alison Holmes presented at the House of Lords Science and Technology committee on emerging global infections

Professor Alison Holmes presented at the House of Lords Science and Technology committee earlier this month on the subject of “Threats of emerging global infections”. This event was the first in a series of seminars for the members of the House of Lords on different scientific subjects.
Lord Patel, Chairman of the Committee, was chairing the session and invited Professor Holmes to give her perspective on the subject. Alison shared the presentation platform with Professor Baron Peter Piot, Director and Handa Professor of Global Health and first Chair to lead Her Majesty’s Government’s Strategic Coherence of ODA-funded Research (SCOR) Board.
The event was sponsored by the Wellcome Trust and the Academy of Sciences.

Professors Holmes and Piot have worked together to deliver exciting and engaging presentations on the emerging global infections and received numerous questions from those present.
