JAI work featured on the cover of New Scientist

A multi-institute team led by Stuart Mangles of JAI at Imperial College carried out an experiment in February 2018 investigating radiation reaction.

In 2018 an experiment team led by Stuart Mangles, of the JAI at Imperial College, carried out an experiment at the Gemini laser facility to study radiation reaction. Radiation reaction is the phenomenon whereby accelerated particles' feel a reaction force when they emit radiation.

Jason Cole published a journal article on this experiment last year and the work has now appeared in an article featured on the front cover of New Scientist article.
