New RBHT Research Specimen Request Form

The Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust have introduced a new Research Request Form - in use as of Monday 16th January 2006.

The Human Tissue Act 2004 requires that research investigations using human samples may only be done with both the consent of the patient and ethical approval.

To aid compliance of the Tissue Act, the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust have introduced a new Research Request Form  - in use as of Monday 16th January 2006.

The form must now be used Trust wide for specimens taken solely for research, aswell as for research tests done on diagnostic samples.  The Form contains an appendix detailing when it should be used, and how it links with the Trust's Item Tracker software.
