Work Experience visitors from The Holt School

Gemma and Alice's visit to CPB

This week, two students from the Holt School, Wokingham, have joined the CPB department for Work Experience. They were supervised by the lovely Kim Prior and had a thrilling week discovering the joys of life as a technician, this however was very far from the assumption that they would be playing with test tubes and dangerous chemicals. The week was spent setting up and preparing 324 flower pots for an upcoming research experiment. Numerous tea breaks were enjoyed. As well as covering the bottom of each pot with fabric, the inside of each pot with fabric and filling each pot with sand and 2.9kg of soil, Gemma and Alice accompanied Kim, Sarah and Rob to the South Kensington Campus for a meeting dissusing the changes to the websites on the 10th December. All in all Gemma and Alice had a great time but are disappointed that they didn't get a chance to use their flowery wellies.
