Science challenge 2021

An opportunity to showcase your ability as a young scientist and earn prizes along the way.

Competitions are a fantastic way to show employers just what you can do and is a great way to stand out from the crowd.

The Science Challenge is the Royal College of Science Union's (RCSU) annual science communication competition. Students are required to demonstrate their skills in scientific debate and reasoning, as the Science Challenge tests the ability of today's young scientists to teach the public about the science that affects their lives.

All you need to do is submit an entry in response to one of the questions related to this year's theme of COVID-19 and scientific progress. A £1,200 prize will be given to the first place winner, plus there are non-cash prizes for the runners up.

For more information about the competition and how to apply view the RCSU Science Challenge webpage.
