Shane Donatello has joined EWRE section

Dr Huma lateefWelcome to Dr Huma Lateef who has recent joined the Centre for Environmental Control & Waste Management.  Dr Lateef is working along side  Professor  Sue Grimes and her work will involve conducting research in tackling problems associated with waste management, and developing relationships with the waste industry.

Dr Lateef is a chemist and obtained her PhD from Brunel University in 1998. Since that time she has spent several years in industry within research and development, looking at technologies for various products and processes at lab scale, pilot plant and industrial scale. 


Mohamed Elshamy

Another successful Viva!  Congratulations to Mohamed Elshamy on successfully defending his PhD Thesis entitled "Improvement of the Hydrological Performance of Land Surface Parameterization: An Application to the Nile Basin"

 


Marie-Laure SegondCongratulations to Marie Segond on the success of her PhD viva.  Her thesis is entitled "Stochastic Modelling of Space-Time Rainfall and the Significance of Spatial Data for Flood Runoff Generation".  Well done Marie!





Shane Donatello Shane Donatello has joined  EWRE section to do a PhD about MDF and  Alkali  Activated  Cements under the supervision of Chris Cheeseman and Mark Tyrer through the  Mini-Faraday programme.  Shane did a  BSc (Hons) at Glasgow University in Environmental Chemistry and has a MSc at Cranfield University in Water Pollution Control Technology.  Previously he worked as an  Environmental  Consultant for the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC) and most recently as a Field Engineer for Ecolochem International - a water treatment company.  Welcome Shane.
