Mechanical Engineering staff recognised at President’s Awards for Excellence

The 2022 President’s Awards ceremony took place on 27 June and included accolades for several members of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

The Metal forming and Materials Modelling group (Mechanics of Materials division) received the President’s Award for Outstanding Research Team. This award celebrates outstanding research that delivers impact, a team's international standing and their beneficial contribution to Imperial.

In the category “Excellence in External Collaboration and Partnerships”, the Hazelab group (Thermofluids division) was recognised for their academic achievements, the development of lasting external collaborations, and the impact of their research inside and outside Imperial.

Dr Jun Jiang received the President’s Awards for Excellence in Research Supervision, which rewards exceptional research supervision, encouragement and support.

Dr Marc Masen received an Individual Achievement Award (highly commended) for Societal Engagement. This category recognises staff who have taken the initiative to deliver high-quality engagement activities with the public, schools, community groups and/or patients.

The President’s Awards for Excellence are annual awards to recognise staff members who have made outstanding contributions.
