Petroleum Experts (PetEx) has granted software to the Department of Earth Science and Engineering, with a commercial value of £3.4 million. The software makes an essential contribution to our research as well as undergraduate teaching and PhD and MSci projects.

PetEx’s generous grant allows our students to gain valuable hands-on experience with state-of-the-art software. The software provides a powerful suite of tools for the appraisal of complex subsurface challenges and to reduce uncertainty in geological models.

The software includes 10 licences each of the IPM 64 Bit software suites and MOVE software suites.
