CMS/Update - Outstanding issue
There is an issue with permissions which can affect News & Events and PWPs
CMS Page Permissions issue
The Portal 10.1.4 upgrade introduced a new page permission option - 'Inherit from parent page'. When you create a new sub-page, it will take this permission by default. This is normally OK, the page will have the same permissions as its parent.
However, some of the applications which the Web Team have written, such as News & Events and PWPs, do not recognise this permission. This can mean that if you create a new News item, for example, you do not see the Edit link to enable you to add a Content Item to the page. You can fix this by going into Navigator and locating the News page, go into Page Properties, then the Access tab. Set the permissions to 'Specify' and the correct permissions will be assigned to the page.
You will now see the Edit link on the page and be able to add your Content item.
The page group for News & Events pages is called 'News and Events' and for PWPs it is the 'People' page group.
