Ambassador event in Hong Kong - 23 Jan 2008
Alumni in Hong Kong met with Professor John Burland on this Ambassador evening event
Alumni enjoyed a lovely evening at the latest Ambassador event in Hong Kong, hosted by the Imperial College Alumni Association of Hong Kong.
The Association was pleased to welcome Professor John Burland, Senior Research Investigator in the Faculty of Engineering, and Imperial Ambassador. Professor Burland, who was a member of the Italian Prime Minister’s Commission for stabilising the Leaning Tower of Pisa, gave an update on College news, as well as that of his research, "Rescuing the Leaning Tower of Pisa – the inside story". "For me it was a great evening, meeting up with old friends and making new ones. The Association did a great job. Many thanks for the highlight of my visit!" Professor John Burland
The presentation was followed by an enjoyable dinner at the HKU Alumni Association Restaurant, and alumni had the opportunity to catch up with old friends. Several new alumni also attended, and joined up to the Association membership also.
Our thanks to the College Alumni Association of Hong Kong for organising and hosting this Ambassador event, and for reuniting the alumni in Hong Kong!
