Julien Beaulieu named 2025 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholar
Julien Beaulieu, PhD student at the Centre for Environmental Policy, Imperial College London, is named 2025 Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholar.
Julien is the first doctoral student from Imperial College London to receive this prestigious honour since the program’s inception in 2003.
Julien’s research project, titled “Climate litigation: greenwashing and compensation for climate damage,” impressed the selection committee, contributing to his selection as one of only sixteen scholars chosen from over 680 applicants.
"It is a unique privilege to benefit from the support of the Trudeau Foundation for my doctoral research on climate litigation and corporate accountability. This grant will allow me to conduct impactful research and join an extraordinary community of researchers" - Julien Beaulieu
The scholarship, valued at up to $210,000 over three years, will help cover Julien’s tuition and research-related expenses. Beyond financial support, the scholarship provides invaluable opportunities for networking, engagement with interdisciplinary communities, and access to events hosted by the Foundation.
The scholarship will not only support Julien's groundbreaking research that connects science and law but also provide unparalleled opportunities for him to develop and deliver societal impact. Professor Joeri Rogelj Julien’s PhD supervisor
