Dr Rebecca Jones and Dr Ravi Singh conduct a demonstration for the visitors

Offer holders were invited to the Chemistry department, to find out what it's like to study at Imperial.
175 offer-holders were invited to visit the department on the 14th 15th and 16th of April, to find out what it’s like to study Chemistry at Imperial. They were given the opportunity to talk to staff and students, were given a tour of the campus and department and also attended a practical demonstration. These proved to be very popular with all days at full capacity.
Our Head of Department Prof. Oscar Ces presented an introduction to the department, and Admissions Tutor Dr. Simon Gerrard gave an overview of what the degree entails, with current students also presenting a talk sharing their perspective on what it is like to be a student with the Department of Chemistry. We also had talks on finance and accommodation.
Dr. Ravi Singh, Dr. Rebecca Jones and Dr. Benji Fenech-Salerno then conducted a practical demonstration. This was designed to provide insight on the practical side of the degrees we offer and to show offer holders how they will apply theoretical taught chemistry to practice.
We hope they enjoyed the day and that they accept their place with us!
