Carbon Trust accepts NovaCem Ltd for incubation support
The recently formed Imperial College spin-out company NovaCem Ltd has successfully won incubation support from the Carbon Trust. NovaCem's technology is being developed based on research completed by Nikolaos Vlasopoulos and Dr Chris Cheeseman, and has been assessed as having high carbon saving potential. The incubation services will help NovaCem develop a business strategy and secure additional funding for its implementation.
Dr Michael Templeton to Assist with Water Treatements and Supply in Rural Nepal
From 16-22 December, Dr Mchael Templeton will be contributing to a national workshop in Lalitpur, Nepal in conjunction with the Nepal Engineering College and visiting rural water supply sites near Kathmandu. This work will be part of Michael's role in a project sponsored by the British Council and Department for International Development entitled "Development of an Appropriate Safe Drinking Water Supply System for Slum Dwellers and Squatters in Nepal".
Goodbye to Research Student: Julian Reichl
Goodbye to Julian Reichl, who returned to Australia this week. Julian has been visiting us from the University of Melbourne, to do joint research with Neil McIntyre and Howard Wheater on regionalisation of rainfall-runoff models.
