

ICB CDT PhD Students Shine at Annual Research Showcase on Monday 23 June 2025.
The Institute of Chemical Biology Centre for Doctoral Training (ICB CDT) at Imperial College London is thrilled to congratulate its PhD students on their outstanding research talks and poster presentations delivered on 23rd June 2025 at the Department of Chemistry's Postgratuate Symposium held in the Molecular Sciences Research Hub, White City Campus. The annual event showcased the innovative and impactful work being conducted across various fields of chemical biology.
The day was filled with insightful presentations and engaging discussions, highlighting the dedication and scientific prowess of the ICB CDT students. Judges were particularly impressed by the depth of research and the clarity with which complex topics were presented.
"We are incredibly proud of all our students for their hard work and the exceptional quality of their research," said Professor Nick Brooks, Deputy Director of ICB CDT. "Their presentations truly demonstrated the breadth and impact of chemical biology in addressing real-world challenges."
Award Winners Announced
The competition was fierce, with several students from the ICB CDT recognized for their exemplary research presentations and presented with prizes by Dr Rudiger Woscholski, Director of Postgraduate Studies for the Department of Chemistry.

In the Chemical Biology and Healthcare Session 1, ICB CDT students Eleanor Clifford and Siân Allerton were awarded joint first prize for their compelling presentations. ICB CDT student Niall McIntyre was highly commended as runner-up in this session.
Chemical Biology and Healthcare Session 2 saw ICB CDT and CRUK student Gem Flint and ICB CDT student Charlie Brown share joint first prize, both delivering impressive talks.

The Imaging, Sensing & Analytical Chemistry session's first prize was awarded to ICB CDT student Xixian Yi, for an excellent presentation.
Finally, in the Environmental and Green Chemistry category, ICB CDT student Sarah Chapman secured joint first prize for her impactful presentation, together with Chemistry PhD student Jhonn Cañón Gómez.
Adding to the success, the following ICB CDT students were awarded prizes for their poster presentation in the Chemical Biology and Healthcare theme:
Joint 1st Prize: Lucy Dan & Zak Elliott
Joint 2nd Prize: Thomas Mills & Naura Antariksa
The ICB CDT extends its warmest congratulations to all the winners from across the Department of Chemistry for their exceptional achievements. We also commend every student who participated, whether through oral presentations or poster displays, for their valuable contributions to the event. The future of scientific discovery is undoubtedly bright with such talented individuals leading the way!
