Staff from across Imperial's Environmental Research Group took part in a number of activities to mark Climate Action Week and Clean Air Day 2025.

Dan Marsh, Programme Manager for the Centre for Low Emission Construction was invited to address a high profile round table at the Swedish Embassy as part of London Climate Action week addressing construction equipment emissions.

Professor Frank Kelly attended the London Climate Action Week Opening at the Wellcome Collection to celebrate the launch of a week that connects local action with global impact. He also attended a private screening of My Planet Now.

Meanwhile, Professor Kelly also attended The Earthshot Prize event at Bloomberg Philanthropies which was hosted by Michael R. Bloomberg and brought together forward-thinking leaders from sectors including climate, business and philanthropy. He was invited to attend a special event celebrating the 20th Anniversary of C40 Cities which reflected on two decades of bold climate leadership in the worlds most ambitious cities, and look ahead at challenges and opportunities

Professor Kelly was also invited on behalf of Baroness Sheehan as Chair of the House of Lords to attend an exclusive screening of The Last Gasp, a drama starring Sir David Suchet as part of London Climate Action Week. The screening was on the harmful practice of gas flaring and its effects to global warming.

Frank was invited as a panellist at Westminster City Council’s Air Quality Action Plan Launch Event. The event marked the launch of the Air Quality Action Plan 2025-2030 which is a roadmap with the aim of achieving World Health Organization air quality guidelines by 2040.

Frank also joined a walk from Great Ormond Street Hospital to Parliament to deliver a letter which held over 400 signatures, as part of a campaign focusing on amplifying voices across the health sector to highlight the serious health impacts of air pollution and call for urgent action to clean up our air.

Dr Gary Fuller was joint editor of a new report from the Royal College of Physicians, published on Clean Air Day. The report "A breath of fresh air: responding to the health challenges of modern air pollution" features contributions by several researchers from Imperial’s School of Public Health, including Dr Sean Beevers, and presents compelling new evidence that air pollution affects nearly every organ in the human body, even at low concentrations.
