Ed Tate named Imperial Enterprise Academic Entrepreneur of the Year
We’re proud to share that Ed Tate has been named Academic Entrepreneur of the Year at Imperial’s celebration of entrepreneurial excellence
The event, held on 9th July 2025, shone a spotlight on researchers and staff turning bold ideas into real-world impact. Ed was recognised for his entrepreneurial leadership as co-founder and CSO of Myricx Bio, which raised a £90 million ($114 million) Series A in 2024 to advance a new class of N-myristoyltransferase inhibitor-based ADCs into the clinic; Myricx is now on track to enter the clinic in 2026. The award celebrates Ed’s commitment to translating fundamental chemical biology research into breakthrough cancer therapeutics, and his long-standing support for deep-tech innovation at Imperial and beyond.
Congratulations to Ed and to all of this year’s winners!
