Families and children from the Faculty of Engineering enjoyed another action-packed day of fun this summer.

Our young visitors took part in a packed schedule of activities, including a live science show from Mad Science, face painting and a magic fairy party.

The day was rounded out by interactive departmental workshops including:

  • Build a dancing robot
  • Chocolate fountain simulation
  • Paper plane challenge
  • Field trip to Mars
  • Eggsperiment
  • Robotic hands, bristle bots and more
  • Children playing in bubbles on the queens lawn
  • Audience members during mad science show
  • Mad science interactive show presenter interacting with a child
  • Mad science interactive show in progress

Feedback from grown-ups confirmed that the event continues to be a hit:

‘The whole event was amazing. Thank you very much! Fabulous way for my child to start their vacation.’

‘The face painting, live science shows, bubbles, balloons. The generosity and care you all put into hosting and making sure they were watered/fed. It was really wonderful to see how excited and inspired the children were.’

‘The staff were very friendly, the science show was good, the food was nice - all in all this is a BRILLIANT event.’
