Imperial held it's 2nd Summer School on IBR-dominated Power Systems in Beijing, China. Hosted by Tsinghua University, the event was a huge success!

Lasting 9 days (25 August - 2 September 2025), covering a range of topics from Modelling and Control of Power Converters, Power System Operation Planning to System Security and technical visits to key state laboratories, the event was attended by 80 students from Europe, the Americas, Australia and Asia. The 27 speakers are world-leading experts from various institutions from seven different countries.

Post-docs on EPICS-UK, based at Imperial College London, Drs Jianli Gao and Wangkun Xu won best second prize and best third prize respectively in the poster session of the 2nd International Summer School on IBR-dominated Power Systems.

I would like to extend my sincere congratulations to Dr. Jianli Gao and Dr. Wangkun Xu for winning the Second/Third Place Poster Award at the 2nd International Summer School on lBR-dominated Power Systems. This recognition reflects not only their solid research foundation and rigorous attitude toward scientific exploration, but also the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and insightful manner. Their work demonstrates remarkable potential in advancing our understanding of inverter-based resources and new-type power system operation, a topic of great importance for the future of sustainable energy systems. l hope they continue to maintain the curiosity, ambition, and perseverance in research, and keep contributing innovative ideas to our field!
