Pret A Manger opens its doors at Imperial College London’s South Kensington Campus today.

The arrival of Pret follows a university-wide experience survey in 2023, in which students and staff identified Pret as their preferred external supplier.

Pret’s signature menu of freshly made sandwiches, salads, hot food items, snacks, and baked goods alongside barista-prepared drinks including coffees, teas, hot and iced drinks will all be available from the new shop.

The shop has opened in the former College Café space – located next to the Business School entrance - which underwent a full refit over the summer ahead of the start of the new academic year.

Today’s opening is a soft launch, with the full grand opening scheduled for Monday 15 September.

Key information:

  • Pret will operate on campus with the same high street service offered nationwide, providing freshly made food and organic coffee.
  • Club Pret memberships will apply at this outlet for all customers as normal.
  • In alignment with Imperial’s Beef With Beef sustainability initiative, Pret has committed to a beef-free menu on campus.
  • Pret has also agreed to work within Imperial’s wider sustainability criteria, including reducing food waste and consolidating deliveries.
  • The launch will be accompanied by voucher distributions and goodie bag giveaways.

The launch demonstrates Imperial’s commitment to acting on community feedback and continuing to improve the range of food and drink options available across its campuses.

Pret will operate the following opening hours:

Weekdays: 6.00 – 20.00

Weekends: 8.00 – 18.00
