Winners of the 2007 Research Excellence Awards

The Faculty of Natural Sciences would like to congratulate Professor Andy Purvis and Professor Roy Taylor on being selected as winners of the 2007 Imperial College Research Excellence Awards.

The Faculty of Natural Sciences would like to congratulate Professor Andy Purvis and Professor Roy Taylor on being selected as winners of the 2007 Imperial College Research Excellence Awards.

The external panel determined that both of these outstanding projects would make a great impact on research throughout the College, and were of a high international standard.

Professor Andy Purvis will lead a team including Dr Matthew Fisher, Dr Richard Grenyer, Professor Henrik Jensen, Professor Georgina Mace, Dr EJ Milner-Gulland, Dr David Ome and Professor Ian Owens to carry out research on Understanding biodiversity dynamics in a changing world.

The research team led by Professor Roy Taylor and including Dr Sergei Popov, Mr John Travers, Mr Andrei Rulkov and Mr Burly Cumberland will be studying Non linear optics and fibre based instrumentation.

The Faculty would like to congratulate them on their success in receiving these prestigious awards
