UP TO SPEED JOURNALISM: Become A Reporter

... In just 22 weeks!

  • Supplement your degree with the country’s leading journalism qualification
  • Fully accredited course with highly experienced Bournemouth University tutors
  • Train with journalists from the BBC, The Sunday Times and ft.com

Whatever your ambitions as a journalist are, Up To Speed Journalism offers a Fast-Track Course accredited by the National Council for the Training of Journalists, which can help you get your foot in the door for a fraction of the time and a fraction of the price of other programmes.

Students on the course are trained by industry professionals in the core subjects of News Writing, Law, Public Affairs and Shorthand. After 18 weeks they will sit NCTJ exams in these areas and will have built up a portfolio of stories which will be published on our news site, www.poolepeople.co.uk.

To keep up with the ever increasing demand for Multi-Media Journalists, students spend the remaining four weeks receiving training in Online Journalism, Online News and Features, Video and Audio Reporting, Interactivity, Blogging and Content Management Systems.

The courses are based at a college on the South Coast near Bournemouth and start every September and February. They cost £2,400 plus NCTJ examination fees.

For more information on the courses visit www.uptospeedjournalism.com or call Tom Hill on 01202 667863.
