Professor Russell Cowburn (Experimental Solid State Physics Group) and colleagues from Ingenia Technology have won the Global Security Challenge 2006 business competition, being named as best start-up in security for their work on Laser Surface Authentication, an optical surface fingerprinting method.
This of course follows Russell's earlier success in winning the Degussa Science to Business Award for his work on magnetic logic.
