Professor Dave Wark has recently been elected to act as the International Spokesperson for the T2K project. T2K is the next major neutrino superbeam experiment and considerably larger than any previous one. It will fire neutrinos from the new Japanese laboratory at Tokai on the west coast of Japan to the Super-Kamiokande detector 300km away at Kamioka on the east coast. The experiment has over 350 collaborators from over 50 institutes from the Americas, Europe and Japan. The experiment has two co-spokespersons, one Japanese and one from the international community and it is to the latter role that Dave has been appointed.
