Miss Joanna E. Causer (2003)

Jo graduated from the College in 2003 with a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics. During her final year she received the Tensor Society Mathematics Prize for excellence in Applied Mathematics. Outside her studies she played in the College Symphony Orchestra as Principal Trumpet.
Following her graduation, she studied for a year at the Institute for Sound and Vibration Research at the University of Southampton, gaining an MSc with Distinction in Acoustics. She then went to work for Her Majesty's Government Communications Centre at Milton Keynes, by whom she was employed at the time of her death. She continued to be active in a number of musical groups, and became an active runner, successfully completing the London Marathon in 2007.
