New MRes in Translational Medicine

New course capitalises on the availability of leading experts in experimental medicine and an outstanding clinical research infrastructure.

Imperial College London, in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust Clinical Research Facility, the GSK Clinical Imaging Centre on the Hammersmith campus and Imperial College NHS Trust, has launched an innovative Master of Research (MRes) programme in Translational Medicine. The course capitalises on the availability of leading experts in experimental medicine and an outstanding clinical research infrastructure.
 
The course is full-time for one year and composed of a 3-month lecture course followed by 9 months’ hands-on research experience in various fields, incorporating methodologies in Experimental Medicine, biomarkers, imaging, statistics and research governance. The programme is designed to accommodate subspecialty interests, such as Cardiovascular/Respiratory, Neuropsychiatry, Oncology/Metabolic Medicine. It is aimed primarily at medical fellows-in-training and junior doctors, although life-scientists with a background/interest in physiology will also be considered.
