Prince vs pauper: comparing the pay of US and UK executives

Watson Wyatt and Imperial’s Tanaka Business School will host a lecture by Professor Martin Conyon of the Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania) on executive reward and stock options on 22 March 2005.

In the lecture, titled Prince vs Pauper? Comparing the Pay of US and UK Executives, Professor Conyon will look at how the pay and benefits of UK CEOs compares with that of US CEOs. The lecture will expand on earlier work he had published in the Economic Journal several years ago on the same subject. His analysis will include an assessment of whether there has been convergence in US and UK executive pay since his earlier work and a review of the trends in stock-based remuneration.

David Begg, Principal of Imperial's Tanaka Business School, said: "This is the third lecture on which Watson Wyatt and Imperial have collaborated since the opening of our state-of-the-art building last year. We are extremely pleased that Martin Conyon, a leading empirical finance researcher, has agreed to deliver this lecture."

Mike Orszag, head of research at Watson Wyatt and a visiting professor at Tanaka Business School, said: "These lectures have played an important role in enhancing public awareness of leading research on key issues affecting our clients."

The Distinguished Lecture, Prince vs Pauper? Comparing the Pay of US and UK Executives, will be held at the Tanaka Business School, Imperial College, London on 22 March 2005 at 5:30pm for 6:00pm.
