INSTITUTE OF PRACTITIONERS IN ADVERTISING (IPA): Summer School 2008
The Summer School will give you the opportunity to win a placement within a direct marketing, digital or healthcare agency and will offer you a real introduction to agency life.
The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) is launching its Summer School 2008 and you are invited to take part.
The Summer School will run during the 2008 summer vacation and offers you a real introduction to agency life. It will provide you with the experience that can prove crucial in getting a job in this exciting and highly competitive sector. You will get the chance to work alongside the professionals - account handlers, planners, creatives - working on real client business.
The Summer School is aimed at UK students between years two and three of a conventional three year degree course, but applications will be accepted from third and final year students.
In addition to the work placement, the Summer School will also provide a series of special evening seminars and social events so you'll get to meet other students, see other agencies, and meet industry experts.
This is an unmissable opportunity for any student who is serious about pursuing a career in marketing and advertising.
The IPA will coordinate the placements in top agencies in London. Places are limited so we expect demand, and therefore competition, to be fierce.
To select the right candidates the IPA is staging a competition. You will have to submit a short essay or a sample of your own creative writing. A specific brief has been prepared which you must answer. The closing date for submissions is Tuesday 27th May.
The successful students will spend the summer (from 7th July to 8th September 2008) working in a top London agency. You will be paid £1,000 plus reasonable travel expenses. All the agencies are in central London and you will have to arrange your own local accommodation. (Special arrangements will be made for students who are placed within the regions).
