The British Business Awards are organised by the British Chamber of Commerce, Beijing, to recognise and reward people who are building businesses and brands in China through innovation, enterprise and endeavour.

The British Business Awards will be held in Beijing in November 2008, and you can nominate fellow alumni who are currently in China to enter this exciting competition.

The British Business Awards, which are being led by British Chamber of Commerce in China and supported by British Council China, United Kingdom Trade and Investment (UKTI) of The British Embassy, China-Britain Business Council and Confederation of British Industry, aim to recognise and reward people who are building businesses and brands in China through innovation, enterprise and endeavour.

British Council China is sponsoring the ‘Alumnus of the Year’ award, which will recognise UK alumni's positive contributions to business and cultural ties between the UK and China. Along with the 'Alumnus of the Year' category, four other award categories will recognise the Company of the Year, Innovative Product of the Year, Corporate Social Responsibility Programme of the Year and Entrepreneur of the Year. The British Business Awards will be held in Beijing in November this year with Sir William Ehrman, Ambassador to the People's Republic of China serving as the Patron of the Awards. The award is not limited to Chinese nationals but to all nationals who are currently active in developing UK-China ties.

Anyone who has UK study experiences and able to show his/her innovative spirit and strong commitment to be the ambassador for UK education and/or culture in China, would have the chance to win the award. More detailed information, like judging criteria and how to enter, could be found on www.britishbusinessawards.cn.
