Maths Professor Professor Kevin Buzzard has been named as one of 10 British 'young academics tipped to go places' by Times Higher Education

Professor Kevin Buzzard has been named by Times Higher Education as a 'rising star ' and a 'young academic who is tipped to go places'.  Kevin is one of 10 young British academics that were deemed to show talent and originality by THE, following input from higher education institutions, research councils and societies.

Professor Buzzard's research focuses on the area of modular forms including the arithmetic of mod p modular forms and on the emerging theory of p-adic modular forms. He is currently concentrating on Langlands philosophy, which looks at the links between number theories.

"The Langlands philosophy is of tremendous importance and interest in mathematics, thus giving weight to Kevin's contribution," says former LMS president J. T. Stuart. "Kevin Buzzard is one of the liveliest of my colleagues, with broad interests, and is not one who sits in an ivory tower. In fact, he is an excellent lecturer and is popular with students; he has been awarded the Imperial College prize for teaching excellence.
