Congratulations to Luca Ciciani who successfully defended his PhD thesis
Congratulations to Luca Ciciani who successfully defended his PhD thesis entitled "An investigation into the mobility and uptake of Cl-36, I-125 and Tc-95m in vegetated soil columns using physically-based models" on 2nd June. Luca is currently working with Drs Adrian Butler and Geoff Fowler as an RA on a project to investigate the use of in-situ chemical oxidation techniques for the remediation of contaminated groundwater at gas works sites.
Congratulations to Ilias Pechivanidis who received an award from the Technical Chamber of Greece, for graduating 1st from the Faculty of Engineering at the Democritus University of Thrace during his undergraduate study years from. October 2000- July 2005 (5-year degree).
Dr Stephen Smith was an invited international speaker at the Australian Water Association Biosolids Specialty IV conference in Adelaide, 11-12 June and is pictured here with the other keynote speakers, Dr Tim Evans (left) and Peter Matthews (centre), also from the UK. During the conference, Stephen participated in a media briefing organised by the Australian Science Media Centre, and he also gave interviews to the Adelaide and national Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
