Dr David A. Langtry (Mineral Technology 1963, PhD 1966)

Whilst studying at Royal School of Mines he represented them at soccer and cricket. On leaving Imperial College he had a career in marketing and advertising. Together with colleagues he founded a company designing and installing simultaneous interpretation systems. Their products were installed worldwide: in the Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre London, Ethiopia, Oman, Brunei, USA and Canada. He had been retired a short time. One of his hobbies was motoring and he loved France. He died in St. Maime on 27 September whilst on holiday with his wife Pat. He is missed by his friends and family with great sadness.
