Welcome to 'My Imperial'! Please browse the pages, we hope you will find it useful for accessing your frequently used services, websites, links and applications during your life at Imperial. Personalise it too, read on!
Putting the 'My' into 'My Imperial' - personalise 'My Imperial'
The first time you login to 'My Imperial' you will see a range of pages/tabs that we've set-up for you. These give you access to Imperial news/event feeds, websites, applications and services, plus a few external feeds, links and services.
You can personalise 'My Imperial' so that it's even more useful for you by adding your favourite links, news/event feeds and changing which portlets you see and in what order (these are the coloured boxes).
Change the order that portlets and links display
- Click on the
button in the top right hand corner to give you access to the ‘
Personalise' links for each region on a page
- Click on the ‘
Personalise' link for any region on a page to open a new window and choose or arrange the order the portlets are shown on a page.
Add/edit an link or RS feed
- Click a
link within any portlet's coloured heading bar to open a new window
- Click the Add button to add a new link or RS feed
- Click on the edit or delete links to change any exisitng linkthe sort order of the links or feeds within that portlet, using the 'Add', 'Edit', 'Delete', 'Sort' buttons.
Restoring the default settingsgs
If you need to reset any sections of 'My Imperial' to the original settings you can do this by clicking on the ' - Personalise' for any given region or the
for any given portlet and then click on the 'Restore defaults' button at the bottom of the pop-up window.
So you can either restore default settings for:
- Individual portlets (e.g. 'Favourites' on the 'Home' page)
- A page region (e.g. the right column on the 'Home' page)
- A page (e.g. 'Home' page)
- The whole website (i.e. 'My Imperial'). To restore all default settings in one go, click on the '
' in the top right hand corner, then click on '
Personalise' in the top heading blue bar of the 'My Imperial' website, then finally click on 'Restore Defaults for all your pages in My Imperial' at the bottom of the pop-up window. PLEASE READ NOTE BELOW.
NOTE: If you do restore defaults then you will lose all the favourites, links and feeds you have added, plus any changes you have made to arranging or selecting items within that particular portlet. If you are restoring defaults for the whole 'My Imperial' website then all settings for all portlets will be reset. SO USE THIS FUNCTION CAREFULLY!
