THE CHATTERIS EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION: Chatteris International Graduate Programme in Hong Kong 2009

The Chatteris Educational Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation aiming to help Hong Kong students improve their English, develop young leaders with global vision and promote cultural exchange.

Chatteris has 55 graduates working within our International Graduate Programme. To see which universities they are from please click here.

We are pleased to announce that application for the Chatteris International Graduate Programme 2009-2010 is now officially open!  The programme offers graduates with a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification the opportunity to develop personally and professionally in Hong Kong. This takes place whilst working in a Hong Kong school on a 9-month paid contract as a Chatteris Native-speaking English Tutor (CNET).

We would appreciate your assistance by informing students of the opportunities available. Chatteris intend to offer 60-70 placements for graduates from all over the globe to start mid-August 2009. Competition for places is extremely high due to the comprehensive nature of the programme, so early application is advised. The usual period for application is between November and April.

Through different aspects of the International Graduate Programme recent university graduates can:

  • Contribute directly to the life and learning experience of Hong Kong students, schools and community
  • Develop important attributes and gain transferable skills invaluable for a successful future career in any field
  • Undertake leadership and team player roles
  • Develop project management skills
  • Enhance global awareness through cultural exchange, learning to think globally and act locally

In addition to skills graduates develop whilst training and working within a Chinese school culture, Chatteris offers optional further programmes with focuses such as career development, community work, cultural understanding and professional skill enhancement.  These additional programmes often attract graduates to apply to Chatteris.

All applicants must have an interest in working with children and young people as a basic requirement.
