International Ambassador Event in New South Wales

New South Wales alumni event

Imperial alumni in New South Wales enjoyed a lecture and dinner event with International Ambassador Sir Peter Knight

Alumni in New South Wales enjoyed a seminar followed by dinner at the recent Ambassador event, hosted by the NSW Imperial College Alumni Association on November 16 2008.

Sustainability and Climate Change were the topics for the seminar and the association were pleased to welcome speakers Sir Peter Knight, Senior Principal of Imperial College and Dr Joe Herbertson, Principal of Crucible Carbon. Crusible Carbon is a New South Wales based research consultancy which focuses on sustainable processing to produce an oil substitute and a char which is an effective soil enhancer and carbon sequestration opportunity.

The event was well attended by sixty three individuals, including thirty six alumni, and the interest in the talks was such that there was difficulty in closing the seminar in order to permit dinner to be served.

Following dinner Sir Peter Knight delivered an update on College and alumni news. His audience was particularly impressed by the College's commitment to retaining its standing in the top ten universities of the world and to learn of the continuing renewal and upgrade of the physical infrastructure which is taking place.
