Autumn Telethon 2008 - Update
Over the past month, a team of student callers have been contacting alumni to seek support for Imperial College's Annual Fund.

As the dark winter nights draw in and the autumn term continues apace, the Office of Alumni and Development’s first fundraising telethon of the academic year is well underway. Approaching its halfway point, the team of 40 student callers have forged connections with 3,651 alumni and raised over £26,000 to date for the Annual Fund.
This year, for the first time, the campaign included alumni in the USA, as part of the annual Imperial College Foundation appeal. Already, over 1,000 alumni in the USA have been contacted, with many expressing a strong interest in activities of other Imperial College alumni based in their regions, as well as strong support for the activities of the Annual Fund.
Student caller Joe Rumer, a second year chemistry undergraduate, had this to say on the importance of the telethon: “Where the annual fund is concerned, every little helps. The telethon allows the College to stay in touch with alumni in a friendly way, as well as raising money from some of its greatest supporters! Everyone has such fantastic memories of their time here, and it’s great that alumni still stay in touch."
“I receive a bursary from the Student Opportunities Fund myself, so I’m happy to ask if the alumni want to donate," commented medical student Elliot Worth. “I think the cause is worthy and the alumni I have spoken to have been very nice. The telethon gives them the chance to give back to Imperial, if they wish.”
The College would like to thank all of our generous donors for their support so far. If you would like to find out more information about Imperial's autumn 2008 telethon campaign, please contact Heather Campbell: h.campbell@imperial.ac.uk.
