Miss Belinda Greenwood (Agricultural Economics 1985)

Having completed her studies at Imperial College, Belinda moved to Warwickshire, and in November 1985 she married Nicholas Funnell. They set up home near Leamington Spa and together they became involved in a number of projects with agricultural and primarily equine connections.

Belinda and Nicholas subsequently purchased the business of Claydon Horse Exercisers and moved to premises at Southam, from where they built up the business to a successful national and international status. She was heavily involved in the running of the business until the final stages of her illness.

Belinda and Nicholas have two daughters, Emma and Elizabeth, now aged 18 and 15.

Early in 2005 Belinda was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour. She undertook courses of treatment with enormous determination, continued to be active in the business, and enjoyed social activities including attendance at her parents’ golden wedding celebrations in September 2005.

Sadly, Belinda succumbed to pneumonia on 27 November 2005, aged 42.
