Dr Peter B. Storey, FRCP, FRCPsych (St Mary’s Hospital Medical School 1953)

Provided by Mrs Ann Storey

Peter was born at Whitley Bay in 1929, educated at Royal Grammar School, Newcastle-on-Tyne, and Mill Hill School, trained at St Mary’s Hospital in London and The Maudsley. He had a weekly clinic at Imperial College for 9 years (69 - 78), admitting student in-patients to his beds in the NHS. He was a consultant psychiatrist at St George’s Hospital and Springfield Hospital at that time and Medical Administrator at Springfield for 6 years.

The students whom Peter would have tried to help will now be scattered far and wide and few will remember him clearly. If he could speak to the students now he might recommend fell-walking, pottery, golf and even gliding to counter-balance the stresses of their work!

I confirm his degrees: MD, FRCP, FRCPsych, DPN, and he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in 1991.
