Emeritus Professor John F. Levy (Botany 1945)
Provided by Stuart Reeves (Botany 1969)
It was with great sadness that I read of the death of John Levy in the latest issue of Imperial Matters. He was one of my educators when I was an undergraduate in the Botany department (1966-69), and I choose that word deliberately.
I well remember him discussing fire in timber buildings, lighting a match and turning it upside down to demonstrate the typical route that a fire takes! I have fond memories of discussing sports with him, and I also seem to remember he was one of the oldest (if not the oldest) members of either the Stoats Club or the 22 Club do they still exist? RIP John, and my condolences to the family.
Priovided by Stuart Graham Reeves.
