Mr Peter H. Huckin (Geology 1956)

P. Hugh Huckin; born 17th October 1930, died 25th May 2008.

Educated at Haileybury & ISC 1945-50. Lieutenant in the Royal Corps of Signals, 1951-53 (Winner of Cadet Prize). Graduated with BSc (Hons) in Petroleum Technology in 1955 from Royal School of Mines, Imperial College.

Awarded Institute of Petroleum Prize 1955, The Sir Alexander MacRobert Memorial Fund Award by Imperial College in 1955, the Charlton Prize by the Institution of Mining and Metallurgy in 1956 and awarded ARSM in 1956. Subsequently, held senior positions in oil & gas industry in 34 countries worldwide, within Shell International, Texaco, Atlantic Richfield, Iraq Petroleum, REMI, Welldrill, Geopec, Stellar Oil and Ogden Energy until his retirement in 2001.

Interests included sailing, gardening, DIY and music. Much admired within the industry and loved by his extended family, he leaves wife, Anne, daughters, Jenny and Elizabeth and four grandchildren.
