Your chance to download and listen to Friends of Imperial College lectures

Each year, the Friends of Imperial College run a packed events programme of lectures and behind-the-scenes events, with the aim of enabling the public, alumni, supporters and local people to explore the very latest developments in science, engineering and medicine, in terms that a non-specialist can understand. In a bid to make their events more accessible to even more people, the Friends have recently begun to record their lectures and post them onto their website.

Two events that have been recorded from the current year's programme and can be viewed by clicking through to the Past Events pages on the Friends of Imperial College website. These events are:

  • The eleven dimensions of the unifying theory
Professor Michael Duff, Abdus Salam Chair of Theoretical Physics
  • The eco cities of China - can they teach us a lesson?
Peter Head (Civil Engineering 1969), Director of Arup, Imperial College alumnus

The recordings are displayed on the website in an MPEG4 format with the slides integrated and can be downloaded as podcasts, which will play using a compatible software such as Quicktime or iTunes and should work on a video iPod.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a member of the Friends, please visit their website for more information.
