Imperial romance: Paul and Debora Catherall (née Harrell)
My husband Paul (Pure and Applied Biology 1983) and I met when we were both Life Science students in the early 1980s.
My husband Paul (Pure and Applied Biology 1983) and I met when we were both Life Science students in the early 1980s.
Our romance blossomed when we undertook our final year research at Silwood Park. I was studying malarial parasites with Professor Bob Sinden and my husband's Professor was Roy Anderson. Paul always said it was the white lab coat that attracted him, and I loved the free tea and biscuits that he generously shared from his flat in Prince's Gate.
As a cox to the Imperial College women's crew he wasn't even put off listening to me screeching across the Thames down at the Putney Boathouse!
We were married in 1985.
