On 5 October 2008, Stephen Spinelli (PhD Business School) was officially installed as Philadelphia University’s 11th President.
Stephen Spinelli’s academic regalia was designed by two Philadelphia University students and features the colours of the University’s six schools in its piping, as well as the colours of the academic institutions that he attended; McDaniel College in Maryland where he obtained his BA, Babson College in Massachusetts awarded his MBA, and Imperial College London where he received his PhD.
Speaking at the first graduation ceremony he presided over as President, he said: "This regalia is a representation of the academic graduations I have experienced in my life. It details where I have been, and will remain a special part of every Commencement [graduation] ceremony over which I will preside."
