CMS Server Upgrade 23-25 September - Websites Unavailable
In anticipation of the new term we have planned to upgrade the server for the CMS websites. The final stage of this upgrade is to happen over the coming weekend, starting on the evening of the 23rd to the 25th September.
The new server is 3 times more powerful and is going to be connected to the SAN (Storage Area Network) for the storage of data. This is part of our drive to give the college a more stable and faster system.
On Friday evening the websites will be taken offline. We will be backing them up and transferring the data to the SAN, then switching to the new server on Saturday. Once testing is completed the new server (and websites) will be put live.
We do not expect the upgrade to take the whole weekend however we would recommend that Site Developers refrain from updating websites during this time.
The ICT Web Team thanks Site Developers in advance for their cooperation.
