St. Mary's graduates reunion

A reunion for St. Mary's graduates took place on 28 September 2003.

The Royal Air Force Club in London's Piccadilly was the venue for a re-union of a group of St. Mary's graduates on the 28 of September. It followed a similar but smaller event held there in September 01, which had been restricted to those graduating in 51/52. This had proved so enjoyable that it was decided to hold a repeat performance in 03,but to broaden the parameters to include a couple of years either side of the previous demarcation. So it was that a party of 51 people made up of graduates, wives and guests met up at this year's reception and lunch. Two of the graduates, Pepi Jelinek and John James, accompanied by their wives, had crossed the Atlantic especially for the party. As expected, it was a nostalgic occasion. Some had last met nearly 50 years ago (or as one person rather more colourfully put it half a century ago! The general consensus was that, though a number of faces were difficult to place after the passage of so many years, the voices hadn't changed and were easily recognised. And it was the voices that were put to good use, with reminiscences and anecdotes being exchanged until well into the afternoon before the party broke up around 4 pm.but not before passing a resolution to do it all again in 05!

The venue has been re-booked for Sunday, September 25 2005 and if there is anyone out there who thinks they are eligible for inclusion (and even if they are not!) and who is interested in joining us for that occasion, they can contact Freddie Hurrell on 01252 714190 or e-mail f.hurrell@ntlworld.com he will welcome them and give them all the details.
